Baptism

Our sweet Adelle was baptized yesterday.

She wore my baptismal dress (given to me by my Grandpa and Grandma Koetje), a bib that John's Grandma Pebbles made and the blanket was knitted by my Grandma Dykstra. I like it that she had something from each family!  Such a wonderful testimony of God's faithfulness!  "For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself." Act 2:31

Cry It Out

We officially started cry it out today! Adelle has been going down with out me rocking her to sleep after her last feeding at night and after her early morning feeding. I think that she is ready to take naps with out rocking to sleep. This morning started great! I woke her up for her 08:00 feeding got her dressed, she had a little awake time and then went down with just a little fussing. She woke up a little early with a dirty diaper and then I fed her. However she is not falling asleep with out crying this nap. She likes to be snuggled to sleep for every nap and it can take 45-60 minutes to get her to really sleep and sometimes she will wake up when we put her down and then we start all over. She will sleep better if she can fall asleep on her own!! I am praying that this only lasts for a few days!

First Weekend at Grandpa and Grandma's

We had our first big weekend at my parents last weekend and it went well! We attended a concert in Holland on Saturday night where Adelle and I had our first public breastfeeding experience. I was very nervous but it we did it without a hitch and I did not flash anyone! Sunday was a big day at church. She did great in the morning and was a little fussy in the evening. She was the highlight of the day at church every one wanted to see her and a few people held her. When we walked in as flock of girls between the ages of 6-10 surrounded her and people kept asking me where Adelle was b/c they could see I was no longer pregnant but they could not see a baby.
It was great to visit with family and successfully accomplish last weekend! Now we are ready for bigger outings and events!

My Parents picked up this outfit for Adelle. Pink dress, pink head band, pink tights and pink booties!  The girls matched well and looked so cute!  Emory is cutting teeth so she was not feeling very good.  Poor girl!

Being a Mommy

Well after a little more than two weeks of being Mommy I LOVE IT! No matter how many late nights and poopy exploding diapers I change there is no better job in the world!! Adelle and I are still adjusting to breastfeeding but we are slowly getting the hang of it. She has slept well the last two nights, only getting up twice during the night to eat. She is so very precious and I am still amazed that she fit inside of me!!

We went to the Dr. on Wednesday and she weighed 10lbs. 3oz. she eats very well!

Yesterday she had newborn pictures taken and I cannot wait to see the results! My pastor's wife and her photography partner came to our house for the photo shoot. They were very creative and Adelle was of course just beautiful! She was awake and happy for almost the entire shoot. She just laid on the blanket and cooed at the camera. I will post a few pictures when we get them.
